Tint FAQ
Is window tint legal on cars in Salem, Oregon?
Yes, within limits. Oregon requires at least 35% visible light transmission (VLT) on front, back, and rear windows of passenger cars (ORS 815.221), with non-reflective tint allowed above the windshield's AS-1 line. SUVs, vans, and trucks generally get more flexibility on glass behind the driver. We confirm the legal limit for your specific vehicle before installing anything.
How long does professional window tint last?
Quality film typically holds up 8–10+ years without bubbling, purpling, or peeling when installed correctly. Ceramic film resists fading even longer and handles the valley's rain-to-heat swings well.
Do you tint RVs and motorhomes?
Yes — RV tint is one of our most requested jobs. It cuts cab heat, protects dash and upholstery from sun fade, and adds privacy at camp, all done on-site wherever your rig is parked.
Can you tint storefront or office windows?
Yes. We install solar and privacy film on storefronts, offices, and street-facing glass to cut glare and cooling costs, scheduled around your business hours so it doesn't interrupt your day.
Do I need to bring my vehicle to a shop?
No. KeptCar is a mobile operation — we come to your home, workplace, or lot anywhere in the Salem-Keizer core and out to about 60 miles, including Portland, Albany, and Lincoln City.
Can you tint over my existing film, or remove old tint?
Both, depending on condition. If your current tint is still adhered well and just needs a refresh, we can often apply new film directly over it. If it's bubbling, turning purple, or peeling at the edges, we'll remove the old film first so the new install goes down clean. We'll tell you which route makes sense once we take a look.
